The Formula DRIFT Asia Series headed to Australia for the very first time and of course X-mini was part of all the exciting action! Kicking off the 2013 season at the much anticipated new stop in Melbourne definitely raised the energy levels up a notch.

Representing X-mini were professional drift drivers Fredric Aasbo (NOR) and Robbie Nishida (JPN). The talk of the track was Fredric’s new Toyota RSR NASCAR v8 86 because it was possibly the first drift car to be built with a NASCAR engine. The presence of Fredric was felt across the entire track as his engine purred like a tiger waiting to strike.

For the Tandem Challenge, Fredric and Robbie partnered up as Team X-mini and took the top spot with their flawless tandem drifting beating crowd favourite Daigo Saito (JPN) and JB(AUS).

All in all, it was a great weekend at Calder Park Track and Team X-mini really wowed everyone in the new environment. With such a great performance in the bag, Team X-mini is definitely looking forward to an exciting Malaysian leg this September at Speedcity Kuala Lumpur.

Catch all the drifting action from Melbourne!
